Courtyard concert

A musical and cultural event not to be missed

On 26 May 2024, culture lovers and families can look forward to a convivial celebration in a historic setting. From 2pm to 5pm, the inner courtyard of Raeren Castle will be filled with music and cultural entertainment, to the delight of young and old alike.

Three renowned music associations - the Kgl. Spielleuteverein Raeren, the Männergesangverein Raeren and the "Vorwärts" Kohlscheid drum and fife band - will be presenting a varied programme that will take the audience on a musical journey through different genres and eras.

The Kgl. Spielleuteverein Raeren has developed from a flute and drum ensemble into a versatile ensemble. Under the direction of conductor William Trips, its repertoire includes traditional marches, lively entertainment music, film music, modern songs and concert pieces.

The Männergesangverein Raeren, directed by Sabine Hickmann, is just as diverse, offering a wide selection of secular pieces as well as religious songs. The participation of the Kohlscheid 'Vorwärts' drum and fife band from Germany further enriches the musical spectrum and gives the event an international flavour.

As well as the musical performances, visitors will have the chance to explore the Pottery Museum Raeren and immerse themselves in the world of Raeren stoneware. For younger visitors, there will be a museum game to help them discover the permanent exhibition in an interactive way. There will also be a face painting stand for children and a drinks stand.

Admission to the concert is free.
